JERRY WADSWORTH

Owner & Master Electrician

Jerry Wadsworth started Wadsworth Electric LLC on June 8, 2020, a firm that not only provides superior electrical services but superior customer service as well.  Prior to venturing out on his own, Jerry was a lead journeyman for Colorado’s largest electrical contractor that serviced residential, commercial and industrial sectors of the construction industry. As the son and grandson of IBEW electrical contractors, he is now continuing the family tradition that was started by his grandfather Richard “Dick” Wadsworth in 1947 and provides his customers with 19 years of experience.
Jerry began his electrical career at the age of 16 as a shop boy for the family business, Wadsworth Electric. Originally working summers and weekends with his grandfather, he began his apprenticeship. Upon graduating high school, he began working full time in the trade on residential and commercial projects. In 2006, he moved to Fort Collins, CO where he continued his apprenticeship and attended night classes at Front Range Community College. After completion of the Colorado State University Academic Village project, Jerry decided to further pursue a degree in Construction Management at CSU. While attending CSU, he was able to secure an internship and ultimately a Field Engineer position with The Industrial Company working on gold mines in Nevada and a $323 million dollar Duke Energy Power Plant in North Carolina.
In 2012, Jerry was offered a position as an electrician in Barrow, AK, which he took. After completing the Alaskan projects, he returned to Colorado and began to work in the DJ Basin oil fields. It was during his time in the DJ Basin that he completed his Construction Management degree and graduated with Cum Laude honors. He then shifted his attention to the Foothills Mall project in Fort Collins where he would assist in designing the Cinemark Movie Bistro and XD Theater. Near the end of the theater project, he would again travel to Barrow, AK for another year working on water/sewer upgrade projects, Shell corporation exploratory drill sites, Top of the World Hotel Remodel and the historic Charles D. Brower home.  Returning to Colorado in 2015, Jerry accepted a job at the CSU Multi-Purpose Football Stadium in Fort Collins as a Project Engineer, QA/QC Manager and also handled all electrical inspections.
Since the completion of the stadium project, he has worked on projects such as CSU Chemistry Laboratory, Mead Towne Center, Rawhide Power Plant Bottom Ash Conveyor System Upgrade, Smucker’s Manufacturing Plant and the Northern Colorado Children’s Hospital.  In 2020, he finally achieved a life long goal and dream of passing his Colorado Master Electrician Exam and became a third-generation electrical contractor. With over 19 years of experience gained by working on countless projects in nine states all over the county, Mr. Wadsworth is proud to be in Colorado and helping the community to build for a brighter tomorrow.
